This painting came from an experiment to create an abstract style butterfly nebula painting. The image of what looks like a human figure came about entirely by accident giving the piece a metamorphic quality. I named it 'Man Dreams of Butterfly' as a nod to the famous quote by Chuang Tzu "I once dreamed I was a butterfly. Now I do not know whether I'm a man dreaming I'm a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming I'm a man."
Man Dreams of Butterfly is an A4 (29.7cm x 21cm) Giclee print on 300gsm textured paper using the finest archival quality inks. The image was created using traditional soft pastel painting methods photographed and edited. The original painting of this print is available upon request.
